Getting closer to the end but we've still got some great acts lined up! We started out this morning with a band that not many are familiar with but they were amazing!! They have a Celtic sound with a little bluegrass, country and more. It's a family of 14, 12 kids ranging from 21 to 2 years old. The dad wanted to have a bunch of boys so he could a championship wrestling team. He ended up have four boys and eight girls. The boys are all championship wrestlers but he wanted something for the girls to be involved in. Turns out they can just pick up an instrument and learn to play it. They've had no lessons for vocals or instruments. Their talent is phenomenal. There are the older kids that perform with their cousin as the drummer and then the little ones are involved through dancing. Those that saw the show were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed the show. Those that weren't there definitely missed out! They said this was the first time they had been to NY. Can you imagine having 11 siblings? Let alone traveling in a bus with them? They took the opportunity to stop at Niagara Falls yesterday to celebrate the parent's anniversary.
O.A.R. kept the runners busy yesterday afternoon and all day today with lots of airport pickups. I think they all pretty much flew in individually which meant we had like 13 pickups from the airport to the hotel. They were all extremely nice and thanked me for the great service. They've been incredible to work with and everyone has been extremely organized, laid back and friendly. Their show is great! The crowd definitely showed up with this being a college town. They sound just like Dave Matthews, a good jam band.
We held the annual cookout tonight as well. Everyone planned for a couple days and we ended up with London Broil, Pork Tenderloin, Salt Potatoes, pastas and the most amazing fresh, sweet corn ever. The troopers, our staff and other staff members of the fair all get together and got to enjoy the great meal and socialize for bit. Looking forward to leftovers tomorrow. :)
