Yesterday I couldn't post much but we were dealing with a possible cancellation here at Chevy Court. My boss and I were on the phone all afternoon sorting through details but the 8PM, Los Lonely Boys were going to have to cancel due to one of the lead singers not being able to travel because of a reoccurring injury. We were waiting on the final word from his doctor but we went ahead and started forging forward trying to figure out how to fill the spot. It all worked out today that the 2PM show with Owl City will just move to the 8PM performance and we'll have a local band play the 2PM spot. I was seriously on the phone all morning trying get all the different parties straightened out. Owl City had to make sure it worked with their schedule and talk with their management. We had to wait for the official word from Los Lonely Boys that they were cancelling. I had to re-advance the show with Owl City and advance with the local band plus tell all of the staff and redo all the schedules. All while having two shows today. It's all sorted out and hopefully the word will get out and we'll have a good day tomorrow.
Lee Greenwood is always fantastic to work with and his fans are so enthusiastic about seeing him. Seeing how he respects the country, the military and goes above and beyond to acknowledge them is incredible. Apparently there is a memorial for veterans in the Syracuse airport. He stopped there and took pictures with soldiers that were coming in. Today was Veterans Day at the fair and they were recognizing Mothers that had lost their loved ones in the war. He read an acknowledgment during his show to recognize them and met with them afterwards. Turns out one of their son's names is on that very wall. He also met with a young boy that was interested in music. He gave him advice on how to reach those dreams. The boy couldn't have been older than seven and it was sweet to see Lee interact with him. Lee received a standing ovation during his performance of 'God Bless the U.S.A.'.

Plain White T's were interesting to work with. The band and crew were all friendly and working through the day. They normally have a sound check and use specific boards that are incredibly hard to find. They ended up using consoles that were a little over their heads. They did about an hour and half soundcheck and even then struggled. However, the show did sound good and went well. They had more songs than I knew were theirs and they've been playing much longer than I knew. We ended up squeezing in a trophy presentation and a preview of 'Trophy Wife' for ABC this fall. The grandstand had over 17,000 coming in for Luke Bryan and we were afraid it was going to crunch up traffic. A couple of the crew and band members had missed flights throughout the day including one of the lead singers. His flight wasn't scheduled to come in until 6:28P with a showtime of 8P. We were all concerned that the traffic would be bad and/or his flight would be delayed and we'd have trouble getting him in. I had the Troopers on standby that were ready to go get him and escort him in if needed. Fortunately, traffic wasn't bad around that time and he had no problem getting in. The poor guy had been trying to get here from Austin all day and ended up arriving on site only 40mins before show time. For everything that went into it, the show went really well.
